Reem Bassioney is an Egyptian professor of sociolinguistics and Chair of the Department of Applied Linguistics at The American University in Cairo. She is the editor of the Routledge Series of Language and Identity. Bassiouney is also an award-winning novelist.

Mahmoud Al-Batal recently retired from his position as Professor of Arabic at the American University in Beirut (AUB). He holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Arabic Linguistics from the University of Michigan. In addition to AUB, he held academic positions at Emory University in Atlanta, and at the University of Texas, Austin (UT). He also served as director of the Emory Language Center, director of the Middlebury College Arabic School, director of the Center for Arabic Study Abroad (CASA), and director of the Arabic Flagship program at UT.
Dr. Al-Batal is co-author of Al-Kitaab Arabic textbook series published by Georgetown University Press and has published on various aspects of TAFL and Sociolinguistics. His most recent publications include Arabic as One: Integrating Dialect in the Arabic Curriculum, an edited volume published by Georgetown University Press(2018), تقرير حالة اللغة العربية ومستقبلها published by the UAE Ministry of Culture and Youth (2021), and مناهج اللغة العربية في العالمي العربي: تجارب الحاضر وآفاق المستقبل and edited volume with Dr. Hanada Taha Thomure, published by Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center (2023).

Khaled Al Masaeed is Associate Professor of Arabic Studies & Second Language Acquisition at Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, USA), where he is the Coordinator for Arabic Studies and a faculty member of the Ph.D. Program in Second Language Acquisition. Khaled has directed and codirected study abroad programs around the Arab World, including Egypt, Jordan, and Morocco. His current research contributes to the areas of multidialectal and multilingual translanguaging practices in L2 contexts and L2 pragmatics. Khaled has published extensively in this area, and his recent publications have appeared in peer-reviewed journal such as Applied Linguistics, The Modern Language Journal, and Foreign Language Annals. He is currently the General Editor for Routledge’s book series Topics in Arabic Applied Linguistics, and a Board Member (and elected convener of the Arabic section) of the American Association of University Supervisors, Coordinators, and Directors for Language Programs.

Hanadi Dayyeh (PhD, American University of Beirut), is a researcher in the field of Arabic Historical Linguistics. Her research concentrates on Sibawayhi’s linguistic theory and its impact on the evolution of the Arabic linguistic tradition. Dr. Dayyeh’s research in the field of Arabic Linguistics also focuses on language acquisition and its implications on the teaching of Arabic. Her work experience in the field of teaching and researching teaching methods in Arabic language, both to native and non-native speakers, extends over 20 years. Dr. Dayyeh has produced a number of textbooks in this field. Currently, she is the chair of the Arabic Institute of Excellence and the Director of Arabic Studies at the American Community School of Abu Dhabi.

Mimi Melkonian is a distinguished language educator at Brunswick School in Greenwich, Connecticut, specializing in Arabic and French instruction. With an impressive track record of accolades, Mimi has received multiple awards, including the esteemed Goodwill Ambassador Award from the Secretary of State and Governor of Arkansas, as well as a Licentiate of The Institute of Mathematics and its Applications in London.
Mimi's exceptional teaching skills have been recognized with The Teachers Award from the 9/11 Tribute Museum in New York City. In addition to her professional achievements, she is also an accomplished author, having published her debut book in 2018, titled "Nightingales: True Stories of Escape, Hope, and Resilience." This insightful work sheds light on the experiences of Syrian migrants, forced migrants, and refugees, highlighting their valuable contributions to their new homes.
Mimi Melkonian is a prominent leader in the field of language education, serving as president of the New York Arabic Teachers' Council. Her contributions have been invaluable in advancing the field and fostering cultural understanding through language education.

Rasha Soliman is an Associate Professor of Arabic Language and Linguistics, and Deputy Head of the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies at the University of Leeds. She started her career in Teaching Arabic as a Second Language (TASL) in 1995. She has an MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Southern Queensland in Australia and a PhD in Arabic Applied Linguistics from the University of Leeds. Her current research and scholarship interests include language variation in the Arabic classroom, teacher training, approaches to grammar teaching and the application of the CEFR to TASL. Rasha is one of the winners of the Women of Achievements Awards 2021 at the University of Leeds for her contributions to the field of Arabic language teaching and for her role as a lead for Equality and Inclusion in the School of Languages, Cultures and Society.
